Hindu American Seva Charities operates independently and without direct funding from government agencies. We are a volunteer run organization and our "staff" for the past 2 years was AmeriCorps VISTAs. The total donations we have received in the past 3 years, went towards hosting the White House conferences, printing our reports, our newsletters and paying our cost share for the VISTAs. (The VISTA program is operated by Corporation for National and Community Service). We are grateful for what we have received. We are in dire need for funds to implement the programs we have initiated. We need financial and human capital resources. We need support to organize the next White House conference as well as support attendance by the Bhutanese refugee youths. The budget of comparable organizations such as We Repair (Jewish) and Catholic Charities is in millions of dollars. |
